Greetings!
I'm Erin Farrell, the "E" in Factor E Creative. I've spent a good part of my career designing and laying out books, but I enjoy working on other artsy stuff too. When I'm not turning the creative gears on the job, I'm an avid music and art nut, curator/collector of unique and vintagey objects, and lover of ink on paper ... all things that, in one way or another, influence my approach to design.
A little back story . . .
With a grandfather who engineered offset newspaper printing presses around the world, and a father who was a talented advertising and landscape photographer, it's no surprise that art and the printed word runs in my veins. I worked in the family business while I was growing up, surrounded by photographs, art directors, deadlines, and day-old donuts. It would be a sign of things to come.
I attended art school for interior design (a field I still love), and found my true calling when my college art professor propelled me toward graphic design. I began my career at Denver's Westword News and Arts Weekly as Assistant Art Director, designing feature layouts and advertisements; later moonlighting with a boutique design firm where I tried my chops on logos, identity, branding (and day-old donuts); and from there, I was asked to come aboard the Boulder, CO-based bike racing journal, VeloNews, where I spent the next six years—the first three as a senior designer for the magazine, and the latter three as Art Director for VeloPress books and VeloGear catalog. I set down roots of my own in 2000 and have been performing feats large and small in the deadline-driven world of design and layout production ever since. My client collaborations include niches such as sports, finance, travel, medical, education, business trade publications and periodicals, fiction books, gig posters and album artwork, event invitations, and video slideshow design and production, among others.
I am based in Boulder, Colorado but can work with you wherever you are. Reach out if you'd like to explore how we can work together to create something great.
